Ensuring a perfect day at Wimbledon

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

It is not long now until Wimbledon, the highlight of the tennis calendar and for many people, the highlight of summer.

If you’re attending the tournament as a spectator this year, why not hire a chauffeur driven car to ensure that you have the perfect day? Parking is limited anyway and the experience of being driven to the tennis and then back again afterwards can only add to your experience.

While you’re at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, there’s plenty to enjoy other than the tennis itself, not least the traditional strawberries and cream. It is estimated that 28,000 kilos of strawberries are combined with 7,000 litres of cream during the course of Wimbledon fortnight.

In addition to that, 200,000 glasses of Pimm’s are sold and about 17,000 bottles of Champagne, so it pays to have a driver, if you’re planning on enjoying your with a glass of something at some point.

But of course the main draw is the tennis with the finest players in the world competing in the five main Championship events on Wimbledon’s 19 courts.

Dressing for Royal Ascot? Then make sure you hire the right car for your arrival

Monday, May 16th, 2011

Royal Ascot isn’t just about the racing. It’s one of the biggest dates in the fashion calendar as well. You’re dressing to impress, so make sure you arrive in style too by hiring a chauffeur driven limo for the day. Ascot Racecourse is about a 50 minute drive from London.

As for the dress code, it differs according your ticket. In the Royal Enclosure, only formal day dress is acceptable along with a hat or a substantial fascinator. Off the shoulder, halter neck and spaghetti strap dresses are all unacceptable, as are miniskirts. For men, black or grey morning dress with a waistcoat is the order of the day.

In the Grandstand, smart dress is still required but it is not compulsory to wear a hat. Men must wear a shirt and tie and preferably a suit and jacket. In the Silver Ring, it is all a bit more relaxed and there is no formal dress code.

If you’re in your best clothes, you’ll want to arrive in a car to match, perhaps a Bentley Flying Spur or a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Royal Ascot demands nothing less.

There is still time to hire a limo for the FA Cup final

Friday, May 13th, 2011

Manchester City play Stoke at Wembley on Saturday to decide the FA Cup. At 3pm the two teams will kick off and a couple of hours later, we will know who this year’s champions. Despite the growing prominence of the Champions League and other European competitions, the Football Association Challenge Cup remains an evocative piece of silverware.

English football fans grow up yearning to win the FA Cup, so if your team gets to the final, it’s a very special day indeed. In recent years, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have monopolised the competition, winning 18 of the last 20 finals, with only Everton and Portsmouth interrupting things. This year, we will get new champions and whichever team wins, it will be a momentous achievement.

If you’re lucky enough to have tickets for the final, you really must make the most of it, because the chance might never come about again. Manchester City haven’t been in the final since 1981 and Stoke have never appeared once. So treat the day with the respect it deserves and hire a chauffeur-driven car to take you to Wembley and hopefully you’ll have something to celebrate when it picks you up again afterwards.

Second Dolly Parton date added at the O2 Arena

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

Dolly Parton has built up an enormous number of fans during her decades as a star. She has had a staggering 41 top ten country albums over in the US and has an enormous following here in the UK as well. Originally scheduled to play just one night at the O2 Arena, a second date has now been added, providing even more fans with a rare opportunity to see the singer-songwriter live.

Speaking about the Better Day world tour, Parton said:

“I’m very excited, first of all, to be going back on tour at all. But I love the fans and I miss the live stage shows. With the new stage show I hope to have a lot of new things for the fans, especially all the new songs from the Better Day CD and some new and different segments in the show with a lot more fun things as well.”

If you’re a fan and manage to get your hands on a ticket, why not make the night even better by hiring a chauffeur driven car to take you to the show and pick you up again afterwards.

Operas biggest names to appear at the O2

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Two of the biggest names in opera are to appear at the O2 Arena in July. The Romanian soprano, Angela Gheorghiu, has established herself as a major name thanks to her astonishing vocals, but Placido Domingo is unquestionably the star attraction.

The tenor has had a career that has spanned half a century with solo work complemented by a memorable spell as one of The Three Tenors. He has nine Grammy Awards and is world-renowned for the versatility of his singing.

If you have managed to get tickets for the concert, you will doubtless be looking forward to what promises to be a memorable experience, but you can help ensure a perfect night by also hiring a chauffeur driven limo.

A night like this doesn’t suit public transport and you don’t want to spend your time worrying about finding somewhere to park either. You want to be free to enjoy yourself and why shouldn’t you enjoy the journey as well? In the back of a limo, you can sip wine and prepare for what will hopefully be a spectacular night that you will remember for the rest of your life.

Going to see Glee at the O2 Arena?

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

Then why not arrange to arrive in a chauffeur-driven car? What could be more fitting when going to see a show set in an American high school where the prom tradition is all about hiring a limo for the night.

Glee Live will play on the 25th, 26th, 28th, 29th and 30th of June, with two performances on both the 25th and 26th. The TV musical has proven to be something of a phenomenon and the live tour has come about as a result of the overwhelming demand.

Even though it relies heavily on the format of the musical, Glee was originally a TV series and is still primarily that, so it may be that this tour is a one-off, particularly when you consider that the current cast can’t carry on portraying teenagers forever. With that in mind, it’s worth going to see the live show while you have the chance and you should also make a real day of it by hiring a chauffeur to drive you there in true style. It also means that you can arrive as if you’re getting the red carpet treatment, just like the stars on stage would.

Spend a little extra to complete your Champions League final experience

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

With Manchester United having completed a 6-1 aggregate win over Schalke 04 in the Champions League semi-final, the final is set to be a cracker with the Reds facing Barcelona at Wembley.

It’s rare that the final should take place here in England and rarer still that this should coincide with an appearance by an English club. If you’re a Manchester United supporter, it is quite reasonable to describe this match as being a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Unfortunately for fans, this is reflected in the ticket prices. United have been allocated 25,000 seats and the prices are £80, £150, £225 and £300, depending on where you are sitting. All the same, you can’t really put a price on an occasion like this as one way or another history will be made.

If you manage to get a ticket, make sure you go the whole hog and complete your Champions League final experience by organising to have a chauffeur drive you to and from the stadium. Wherever you’re staying and whatever your plans before and after the match, being driven around in a limo is the only way to travel on a grand night like this.

Are you one of the lucky few with an FA Cup final ticket?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

If so, make the most of it. Book a hotel and hire a limo for the day because there are many people who’d love to be in your position.

Even though Wembley is a 90,000 seater stadium, the two teams only get 25,000 tickets allocated to them each. The FA’s full member clubs are allocated 23,000 tickets each year and another 17,000 go to ‘Club Wembley’ members.

This is particularly bad news for Manchester City who have 36,000 season ticket holders. 11,000 will have to miss out, not to mention all the fans who do not have season tickets but who have waited so many years for their club to once again appear in the final all the same.

To decide who gets priority, City are implementing a loyalty points system, but tickets on the black market are likely to soar in value. This is not without reason. If you manage to get in, you will be experiencing a historic event no matter which side wins, so make sure you enjoy it to the full. You could arrive at the ground in a Rolls Royce Phantom if you wanted.

How many times will you get to go to Wembley?

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Probably not many, so if you do have the opportunity, make the most of it and take a limo.

It’s not long now until the FA Carlsberg Trophy final where Darlington will meet Mansfield. The Carlsberg Trophy offers an opportunity for smaller teams to make it to the nation’s most famous ground for once and if you’re a supporter of one of these clubs, this a golden opportunity, so don’t waste it. Neither has ever appeared at Wembley before and who knows when they are likely to again.

So make the day a special one, regardless of the final result. Hire a chauffeur driven car to pick you up from your hotel and take you to the ground. You can enjoy the ride and evade the congestion on public transport in the process. As the match kicks off at 1.30pm, you will have plenty of time afterwards and if you’ve got the car for the day, you might as well make good use of it, perhaps heading out for dinner or for a night on the town.

You can’t choose the result that you want, but you can choose your car. Take a look online to see what cars are on offer.

Take a limo to the Champions League final

Friday, April 29th, 2011

The Champions League will be played at Wembley this year and following Manchester United’s 2-0 away win over Schalke 04 in the first leg of the semi-final, there is a very good chance that and English club will be represented.

Taking place on the 28th May, the Champions League final is arguably the biggest night in domestic football. Inter Milan won in Madrid last year and they beat Barcelona on the night, who have an extremely good chance of appearing in the final again after beating Real Madrid 2-0 with their home leg still to come.

So Manchester United v Barcelona seems most likely, but whatever sides appear, it will be a massive occasion and warrants a ‘no expenses spared’ approach. With kick-off at 7.45pm, you can hire a limo for the evening and plan other activities for before and after the match, having your chauffeur drive you to wherever you want to go.

If you’re a Manchester United fan, this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see your team triumph in the Champions League on English soil, so don’t miss a trick. Take a limo to and from Wembley.
