Bentley is looking to achieve more annual sales by creating smaller, cheaper models. The company is looking to create a model which fits into the £75,000-£95,000 price range.
Sources have said that Bentley is indeed considering a smaller model and it is codenamed the New Compact Bentley (NCB). The model is expected to make a debut around 2014 where it will have a production output of about 7,500 units annually.
Bentley would like to change the styling on the NCB so that it is nothing close to that of the Continental/Flying Spur. This pretty much means that there will be a two door model as well as a four-door and 5-seat crossover model.
The engine will come from Audi, and it is expected that the company will use a V8 motor. The engine could be the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 unit with 550-hp and 480lb-ft of torque. There might even be a diesel unit.
Expect an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with an air suspension for better ride and handling quality
